Automatically Generous
We believe Jesus taught us to prioritize generosity. Automating your giving is one of the best ways to do this! In addition to making our operational budget more stable, it is our hope that automating your giving here makes your participation in our mission as seamless as possible. A strong church helps make a strong community. And to remain strong, we need the people who love Burnett Church to develop a plan to support it.

In short, it matters to us because it seemed to matter to Jesus. Our resources were one of the most common topics Jesus spoke about (over 300 times in the four gospels!). We believe Jesus taught on this so much because he knew that if we relied too much on our money we couldn't rely enough on him. It's a matter of trust!
So our generosity is tied to our spiritual growth. It's not just something we do to support the church, it's something we do to grow more mature in our faith! For that reason we believe Jesus taught us to give like this:
1. Make it a Priority - this is just one way we practice making Jesus the most important thing in our life.
2. Give Persistently - consistency is the key to growth, so do this as a regular rhythm.
3. Make Progress - Our giving journey often starts in safety. We give from what left rather than from a place of trust. It's good for us to stop from time to time and evaluate how God has blessed and if it's time to trust him with more.
4. Give a Percentage - In Jesus' day nearly everyone gave a tithe - 10% of their income back to God. If you're new to giving we understand this feels like too much. We do beleive this is the model Jesus taught and we believe basing giving on percentage charts a clearer path towards what Jesus taught about generosity.
